SKI WAKE BOATS - Peter Stevens

Born into a waterski family and travelling in the back of a V8 ski boat on Lake Eildon at the age of 6 months, Peter has always been in or behind boats for recreation every ski season. Since 1988, Peter has worked in various capacities in the marine business. This includes fitting out inboard ski-boats, retailing interstate brand boats and writing articles for Australian PowerBoat Magazine, Club Marine Magazine and Australian WaterSki Magazine. Articles ranged from tips when purchasing secondhand boats, maintenance advice, boat reviews and boating destinations. Reviewed boats ranged from 1955 classic Wooden Eddy craft through to new bells and whistles Air Nautique Wake boats. Stage 1 and Stage 2 boat sales were quite common in the 70's and 80's however manufactures were often embarrassed to see one of their hulls which had not been put together well out on the water tarnishing their brand image. Peter has even seen a boat fitted with plumbing from washing machines. Don't laugh - it is true. Most manufacturers with quality products began refusing to sell Stage 2 boats. Over many seasons Peter tested boats on the market and realised the potential for specialising in Kit boats in 2007 as there are many handymen/tradesmen who like to build and tinker in the shed and save a few dollars along the way. In addition it allows customers to truly customise their boat with the parts and configurations they want.
